Hello,
In this issue We will be discussing the subject of search engine optimization and can it make a difference. I know when I first started out as a webmaster, and as everyone does, I was under the impression that the only way to get traffic onto your site was through search engines and so I read article upon article of how to 'optimize' your site for search engines. Looking back now and relating to the techniques they offered, it would seem they were written in the days of meta search engines and with extremely limited applicability to today’s methods. I also looked into paid submission to search engines (I do not wish to influence anyone from this point. I speak of my own experiences and you may be able to make them work with a different strategy from me.) but never really had any joy from them. So is it all a myth? Far from it! After years of work and experience I seem to be doing OK. For those of you struggling on I tell you to keep going and you will get there. Sorry to disappoint any of you but I am not about to give away my secrets here but there are a number of techniques to optimize your site and I have learnt these through careful tweaking and observing the results. When do optimization become spam? There is a fine ling between optimization and search engine spamming. Often this line becomes blurred and one mans optimization is one mans spamming. Spamming does not get you anywhere but banned. Dont do it! It cheats other people who are working hard to keep their ethics out of places and will eventually destroy your self. You can help fight it by reporting sites to search engines. As I said.
