Hello ,
This week we are comparing the advantages and disadvantages of self built computer vs off the shelf. In my experience, I have used both types as my main PC. I first started out with a Dell built machine when I didn't have the knowledge to build my own system. I was very impressed with it and the level of after sales service that came with it too. This all seemed very good but when I moved on, I found that the upgradeability was not what I thought it would be. This is mainly due to the fact that dell build their own motherboards and thus different fixings to the case insureing nothing else can be fitted. This forced me to move on and have a go at builing my own computer. This was a great success and I must recommend it. You can build it to whatever specifications you want.
