In this issues we will be discussing the top 10 ways to attract and draw back visitors to your site. These are the ones I have found most useful and I know many of you will say, as I did, that these tips can't possibly make a difference. Just try them and, as I did, you will find that they do work and your traffic will increase. Tip #1 Update your pages regularly. This is important. Everyone hates it when you are surfing around and you see a site with a 'update on such and such' counter that is about 2 years old. Update your site regularly and you will have visitors coming back again and again. Tip #2 Get listed in search engines. - This is another big one and can be hard to do but will pay dividends. Tip #3 Get listed in directories. - You don't have to go around every directory you can find, although it would help to some extent in increasing your backlinks, you would not notice any traffic from them. Rather go with the big one www.DMOZ.org Tip #4 Accessibilty. - Make sure your site is viewable to all your visitors under all operating systems and browsers. Tip #5 Start a mailing list. - This works! Or I wouldn't be doing it now would I! Tip #6 Start a forum. - This will keep visitors coming back and it would be a great idea to merge the member list and email list. An example of this is the ofah.net forum, an example of how your community can explode by adding a forum to gather people of similar interest. As mentioned before, we recommend the vBulletin forum. Tip #7 Add interactivity. - I don't mean silly little JavaScript prompts. Give your users the option to register to receive extra bonuses or something like that. Tip #8 Submit your articles. - Submit your articles to many online article sites and build yourself a respectable name. We would like to publish anyones article in this newsletter, just contact us. Tip #9 Advertise online and off. - Banner ads and text links are important, but offline advertising works too. Radio ads, ads in trade journals, and so on all help to generate interest in your site.
