Shopping Cart uses Matt Wright's "cookie.lib" to keep track of a user's purchases while they visit your site. Once the user enters the quantity and hits the "Add this item" button, the script receives the information and sends the user a cookie. Every time the user enters a new item, the script reads the cookie and adds the new item. Users can also subtract items and check out. When the user quits his or her browser after a good day's surfing, the cookie disappears from their cache, so they will have a clean slate when they come back. The information comes to you via e-mail, so it's not waiting around on a server somewhere. |
